Dances of the Diaspora: Community African Dance Class led by Dyane Harvey Salaam

With live Traditional West African musicians, participants will experience the relationship between rhythm shape and motion, dancer and musician, and celebrate the possibilities of one of the truest expressive forms of spirit, led by faculty member Dyane Harvey-Salaam.

Open to people of all ages regardless of their background in dance or movement. No previous dance experience is needed. Space is on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants should wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to dance barefoot or in socks. It is advisable to bring a bottle of water and a towel for use after class. Classes are approximately 90 minutes.
